Gas Engines

Meta Power Systems offers customized and modularized gas reciprocating engine CHP in a range of electrical outputs from less than 50 kW to around 4,500 kW. The electrical generating efficiency of these packages is around 38-45%, and a total CHP efficiency up to 93%.

Our gas engines, or spark-ignition internal combustion engines, can burn Natural Gas, Biogas, LPG, Landfill gas, and sewage gas, and are ready for hydrogen.

The heat from the gas generating set can be recovered from the engine exhaust gases, which leave the engine between 350 and 450°C, jacket cooling, lubrication oil cooling, first stage, and second stage intercooler. The high exhaust gas temperature can be used to generate steam, or used for direct drying and heating applications, or combined with the heat from the cooling circuits to generate hot water at 80-90°C via plate heat exchangers. This helps increase the efficiency of the engine.
